The former Guns N' Roses rocker Slash (real name Saul Hudson) filed papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court last week citing 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason behind the split from Perla Ferrar.
The couple married in October 2001 and have two sons together, London Emilio, 8 and Cash Anthony 6.
The guitarist has listed the date of separation as July 15 2010. He is requesting joint physical and legal custody of the two boys and is willing to pay spousal support.
This is Slash's second marriage after splitting from first wife Renee Suran in 1997 after a five-year union.
It seemed fatherhood and marriage to Perla had a calming influence on Slash. The 45-year-old musician said: "I quit doing drugs. But because I'm a habitual kinda guy, if I quit doing drugs, then I drink. And then if I quit drinking, I do drugs - forever. So I quit doing drugs this one time, and I decided not to drink too. It's been four years. And I really don't miss it."

jack white and conan o'brien
Conan O'Brien will return to television November 8, 2010 on TBS, but before we can see that, the comedian is attempting another career - rock star. Two releases by O'Brien will hit stores next week, both recorded over the summer at Jack White's Third Man complex in Nashville.
The first release 'Live at Third Man' was taped in front of a small audience of 300 fans on June 10, 2010 during O'Brien's "Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour," and features a duet with White on a cover of Eddie Cochran's "20 Flight Rock."
150 copies of a limited-edition, tri-color 45 of the single will be sold for $100 a piece at Third Man's Nashville shop on August 24, 2010 with proceeds benefiting ReTune Nashville, an organization raising money to replace instruments damaged in the city's massive flood earlier this year.

billy currington - enjoy yourself
The fourth record from Mercury Nashville singer/songwriter Billy Currington is set for release September 21, 2010. The album is entitled 'Enjoy Yourself' and includes the Top 5 hit “Pretty Good At Drinkin’ Beer” written by Troy Jones. Enjoy Yourself is produced by Currington and Carson Chamberlain.
"It’s a great mix. It reflects who I am,” Currington says about the collection of 10 songs. “I’m definitely not just one thing. I’m the beach guy, I’m the country guy, I love my dirt roads and fishing, but I love New York City and L.A. and Miami, too.”
The album features Nashville’s songwriters Dave Barnes, Shawn Camp, Scotty Emerick, Jones and Mark Nesler.
“This record was about recording songwriter’s songs,” says Billy. “I could have gone back and recorded a bunch of mine that I’ve written, but there were a lot of writers I wanted to record, like Shawn and Troy. I had to put their songs on this album.”

ronnie dunn in annual speed week
Ronnie participated in the annual Speed Week at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah over the weekend with little success. Driving Jeff Brock's restored 1952 Buick Bonneville Bombshell, Ronnie was hampered by mechanical problems. "On my first run, it suddenly lost power at 115 mph," he says. "The boys on the pit crew said the fuel pump blew. They tore it apart and were able to repair it."
Day two wasn't much better. "On the test run the next morning they burned a valve and trashed the engine," Ronnie reports. "I think I'll stick to singing."
Brooks & Dunn have a few more shows before their finale at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Sept. 2, 2010 which will benefit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

van halen - new music
It appears that the rumors of a new Van Halen album are right on the money.
An official statement from the band’s publishers, Warner/Chappell Music, not only confirms that their agreement with Eddie and Alex Van Halen has been extended, but ends with the following line:
‘The group is currently in the studio recording an album with (David Lee) Roth that is due for release in 2011.’
This would be the band’s first studio album with David Lee Roth since 1984.

ac/dc - black ice tour #2 in music history
Having just wrapped up last month in Spain, AC/DC’s long-running Black Ice tour has turned out to be the second-highest grossing concert tour in music history, according to Billboard.com. With a haul of about $441.6 million, the 2008-10 Black Ice tour takes a backseat only to The Rolling Stones’ 2005-07 A Bigger Bang tour, which grossed $558.3 million.
Still, Angus Young and Co. have nothing to hang their heads about. Nearly 4.9 million people attended the 168 shows on the tour. Following an eight-year touring absence, AC/DC hit the road again in 2008 to support a new studio album, Black Ice. That album also performed amazingly well, topping the charts in 27 countries.
