mellencamp unhappy about song used
The National Organization for Marriage, a group that seeks to prevent same-sex marriages, has been using John Mellencamp’s song “Pink Houses” at their rallies without the singer’s permission and he is not happy. Mellencamp, who is for same-sex marriage, does not want his music associated with the organization and the rocker’s publicist has sent a letter to the group expressing that to them. The note goes on to encourage NOM to “find music from a source more in harmony with [their] views.”
kenny chesney to join farm aid
Kenny Chesney is among the artists added to Farm Aid 25.
Joining the country star will be Norah Jones, Jason Mraz, Band of Horses, The BoDeans, Amos Lee and Robert Francis. Already announced were concert organizers Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2, at Miller Park in Milwaukee.
The all-day festival will be a celebration of music, family farmers and good food and will again feature homegrown concessions, family farm-identified, local and organic foods.
