presenters added to ACM's

Chris Young, Bethany Hamilton and AnnaSophia Robb have been added as presenters for the 46thAcademy of Country Music Awards, hosted by Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton. The ACM's will be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at 8 p.m. live ET/delayed PT on CBS.
They will  join previously announced presenters Robert Pattinson, Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Seacrest and Nancy O’Dell. In addition, Ronnie Dunn, Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton, Alabama, Dierks Bentley, Carrie Underwood and Zac Brown Band with James Taylor. Entertainer of the Year nominees Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban have been announced as performers as well at the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.
Chris Young is one of the hottest artists in country music right now, having just celebrated his third straight No. 1, “Voices.” His new single, “Tomorrow,” has reached the Top 20 and his latest album, Neon, will be released later this summer.
Bethany Hamilton has become a source of inspiration to millions through her story of determination, and hope after being attacked by a 14-foot tiger shark while surfing off Kauai’s North Shore. The attack took her left arm and seemed to end her surfing career. Her story will be seen on the big screen in Soul Surfer in which Carrie Underwood will make her big screen debut. AnnaSophia Robb will star as Bethany in the movie and is known for her roles in Race to Witch Mountain and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

toby keith and friends golf classic

Toby Keith has scheduled his Toby Keith and Friends Golf Classic for 20-21 May 2011 in Norman, Oklahoma Proceeds from the event will help build the OK Kids Korral, a cost-free housing facility for pediatric care patients and their families in Oklahoma City. "OK Kids Korral is going to be different than any other facility in our area," Keith said. "We are doing our best to address issues that arise while a child is in treatment, such as weakened immune systems and sensitivity to light. More than anything, we want it to be a home of inspiration, encouragement and hope."

country dance for wii

Joining the video game dance craze is Country Dance, a new game from GameMill Entertainment. Country Dance features songs from more than 25 of country’s biggest artists, including Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, and Darius Rucker as well as favorite tunes from the ’90s like “Achy Breaky Heart,” “Watermelon Crawl” and “Boot Scootin’ Boogie.” Eighteen of the artists featured in the game have won a CMA Award. If you purchase the game at Walmart, you’ll also get a bonus track, Alan Jackson’s “Good Time.”
http://image.gamespotcdn.net/gamespot/images//2003/all/boxshots2/619009_194905.jpgLike other dance video games on the market, Country Dance puts players through their paces as they mimic the avatar’s on-screen dance moves. The player’s moves are recorded by the Wii’s censor, which determines scoring. Dances range from a 1-star to a 3-star difficulty level, with 3 stars being the hardest. “Chicken Fried,” for instance, is perfect for the beginner, but “Cowboy Casanova” and “Good Time” are not for the faint of heart.  Up to four people can play at a time.
Country Dance will hit stores 29 March 2011.

toby keith #1 on billboard 200 chart

For a third week in a row, a country singer has the best-selling album in the country. Following on the heels of Zac Brown and Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith topped this week's Billboard 200 chart with Bullets in the Gun.
Making the feat somewhat less impressive: the 71,000 copies of Bullets in the Gun that were purchased in its first week of sales is the lowest total by a chart-topping debut album since Nielsen SoundScan started tracking sales in 1991.  That doesn't mean it's the lowest-selling number 1 in history; as Billboard points out, Justin Bieber's My World 2.0 was number one with just 60,000 albums sold back in May 2010, but it had been out for two months by then. Toby Keith's 2009 album, American Ride, debuted at number 3, selling 90,000 copies in its first week.

To be fair, the rest of the albums in the top ten didn't offer Toby Keith much support. The only other debuts on the chart were Bruno Mars' Doo-Wops & Hooligans, which lands at number 3 -with 55,000 copies sold and Flockaveli by Waka Flocka Flame, which spends its first week at number 6  with 37,000 copies sold.

Returning albums included Chesney's Hemingway's Whiskey, which dropped to number 2 with 65,000 copies sold and Eminem's Recovery, which rose one spot to number 4 with 52,000 copies sold. Zac Brown Band's You Get What You Give drops to number 5 with 43,000 copies sold. Linkin Park's A Thousand Suns sold 37,000, Katy Perry's Teenage Dream sold 32,000, Trey Songz's Passion, Pain & Pleasure sold 32,000 and Selena Gomez & the Scene's A Year Without Rain sold 27,000 fill the last four spots in the top ten.

arrests made at toby keith concert

The Boot is reporting that 42 people were arrested at  Toby Keith’s concert at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in Darien Lake, NY recently. Thirty-six of those people were charged with underage drinking. Other charges among those arrested that night also included physical assault, trespassing and harassment.
